Canareef Resort Maldives records largest Chinese group arrival in a day to Addu
In response to the Ministry of Tourism and MMPRC’s strategic focus on the Chinese market, Canareef Resort Maldives has taken a significant lead in this initiative, marking only the beginning of a promising trend.
Welcoming a record-breaking 151 pax group, Canareef chartered two planes and secured additional seats on scheduled flights for seamless transfer from Male to Addu Atoll. The resort’s commitment to providing unique experiences aligns with the nation’s efforts to strengthen ties with the Chinese market.
“Initially we had wanted to hire the Airbus A320 to lift the entire group all at once however due to no availability we had to opt for chartering two ATR 72 planes,” an official from the resort said.
Nestled in UNESCO biosphere reserve Addu, Canareef Resort Maldives offers 271 beach villas across a 4.5 km stretch. Accessible by domestic flight and a 10-minute speedboat ride from Gan Airport, it boasts a private picnic island and one of the Maldives’ longest beaches. Enjoy spacious villas with open-air bathrooms and stunning lagoon or Indian Ocean views.
