Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2025 opens for registration
Dhiraagu has opened registrations for the highly anticipated 2025 edition of the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR).
Announced at a press conference held today at Dhiraagu’s Head Office, interested participants may now register via dmrr.dhiraagu.com.mv for one of the following race categories: Half Marathon, 10K, 5K Open, or 5K Corporate Team.
Now in its 16th year, the Maldives’ premier running event is scheduled to take place on Friday, 24 October 2025, at Central Park in Hulhumalé. A total of MVR 280,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to winners across all race categories.
“This year’s DMRR marks an exciting new chapter as we introduce a newly certified route designed to enhance the overall race experience for our runners. We are looking forward to seeing increased participation in the corporate team category, alongside athletes from across the globe. Our goal is to continue fostering a culture of fitness, competitive spirit, and community engagement through DMRR,” said Mirshan Hassan, Director of Brand and Marketing Communications at Dhiraagu.
DMRR remains the first and only international run held in the Maldives, listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar, with a World Athletics-certified race route. As the largest annual run in the country, the event brings together communities and participants from across the Maldives and abroad.
In line with its longstanding commitment to social impact, DMRR 2025 will once again champion the cause of child protection—one of the core pillars of Dhiraagu’s corporate social responsibility initiatives. The event will provide a platform for NGOs to advocate for children’s rights and raise funds for their initiatives.
Dhiraagu will contribute MVR 200,000 to the top five endorsed NGOs nominated by participants during the registration process, helping to fund the launch of their planned projects. Additionally, MVR 100 from each registration, along with proceeds from special bib number sales, will be distributed equally among the selected partner NGOs.
Registrations for DMRR 2025 are now open and will close once the cap of 4,000 participants is reached.
