JOALI Maldives crowned North Zone champions at Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025
The Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 North Zone Final took place on 29 August 2025 at Royal Island Resort & Spa, where JOALI Maldives claimed the North Zone Champion title with a 6–3 victory over Velaa Private Island.
The evening began with the national anthem, followed by player greetings from the chief guests: Nasrulla Ali, General Manager of Royal Island Resort & Spa; Mohamed Mausoom, Resort Manager of Velaa Private Island; Julien Loubere, Resort Manager of JOALI Maldives; and Ali Ahmeem, Assistant Director of HR at Velaa Private Island.
The final match delivered a high-paced display of futsal. JOALI Maldives took early control with two first-half goals. In the second half, the side extended the lead with two more strikes before Velaa Private Island responded strongly, scoring three goals to close the gap. JOALI, however, restored their advantage with a fifth goal and secured the win with a final strike in the closing moments of the match, finishing 6–3.
The closing ceremony highlighted both individual and team achievements:
- Final Man of the Match – Muslim Mohamed (Rona) (#96, JOALI Maldives), presented by Julien Loubere, Resort Manager of JOALI Maldives
- North Zone Champion – JOALI Maldives, awarded by the Resort Manager of JOALI Maldives
The victory secures JOALI Maldives a place in the next stage of the competition, where they will face the North-Kaafu Champions for a chance to progress to the Grand Finale.
With the North Zone complete, the focus now shifts to the Dhaalu Zone, set to begin on 5 September 2025. Hosted by Sun Siyam Iru Veli at Bandidhoo Island, the zone promises another series of competitive fixtures as the tournament continues.
