Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 kicks off in Alif Alif Zone
The Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 Alif Alif Zone officially commenced yesterday, 25th September 2025, hosted by Kuramathi Maldives. With three competitive resorts in the mix, the Alif Alif Zone promises exciting futsal action as teams battle for the coveted atoll championship.
The opening ceremony featured a lively Boduberu performance by the Kuramathi Boduberu Group, followed by the national anthem. Distinguished chief guests then greeted the players before formal speeches were delivered by Mohamed Nashmee, Managing Director of Tekkers Maldives, and Bertrand Margerie, General Manager of Kuramathi Maldives.

In the tournament’s opening clash, hosts Kuramathi Maldives faced W Maldives in a high-energy encounter. Kuramathi struck first in the opening half to take a 1–0 lead, before sealing the match in the second half with another well-placed goal. The game ended 2–0 in favor of Kuramathi. Mohamed Saain (#7, Kuramathi Maldives) was named Man of the Match, with the award presented by Kuramathi General Manager, Bertrand Margerie.

The action continues this week as the group stage progresses. The Alif Alif Zone Champion will go on to face the Dhaalu Atoll Champion, The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli, in the Zone Final. The winner of that match will secure a place in the Grand Semi-Final of the tournament, where they will face Crossroads Maldives, the South Kaafu Zone Champion.
Now in its 4th year, the Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup has cemented its place as a premier event in the Maldivian sports calendar.
