Veligandu Maldives crowned Alif Alif Zone champions in Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025

The Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 Alif Alif Zone concluded on 1 October 2025 with a tense final hosted at Kuramathi Maldives. After a goalless draw in regular time, Veligandu Maldives emerged victorious in a dramatic penalty shootout, defeating the hosts to secure the Alif Alif Atoll Champion title.

The match opened with players entering the pitch to the FIFA anthem, followed by the Maldivian national anthem. Chief guests joined the opening ceremony to greet the teams before play commenced.

On the field, both sides demonstrated strong defensive organisation, with neither managing to score in either half. With the scoreline still level at full time, the contest was decided by penalties.

The initial round of spot-kicks ended 4–4, as both Kuramathi and Veligandu goalkeepers made crucial saves. The shootout progressed into sudden death, where Veligandu held their nerve to edge ahead 8–7, clinching the championship.
