MV+ opens applications for Community Impact Awards 2026

Applications are now being accepted for the MV+ Community Impact Awards (CIA) 2026, the fourth edition of the biennial event that celebrates outstanding contributions to Maldivian society. For the first time, the Awards will extend beyond NGOs to also recognise corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives from businesses, including those in the tourism sector, as well as the efforts of individuals.

The 2026 Awards will additionally serve as a fundraiser, with proceeds directed to the NGOs that receive the awards.

The Corporate Changemakers category will spotlight impactful CSR initiatives across three sub-categories:

  • Private Sector
  • Government Sector
  • Tourism Sector

CSR initiatives may focus on any area of social concern, though priority will be given to health-related projects. Special emphasis will be placed on initiatives addressing cancer and non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which form the theme of the 2026 Awards.

Applicants can review the criteria and submit entries via the designated application link.

the Outstanding NGOs category remains dedicated to NGOs undertaking meaningful work for the community. For the 2026 edition, recognition will be awarded to NGOs engaged in cancer prevention and support, NCD management, health education, and services for patients and caregivers.

Application details and eligibility criteria are available via the application link.

The Lifetime Impact Award will honour one Maldivian individual whose lifelong dedication has created lasting, positive change in society. The accolade will recognise pioneers, visionaries, and community leaders with a minimum of 15 years of service to the community and social causes.

Further information on the criteria and application process is available via the application link.

Each edition of the CIA focuses on a pressing national issue. In 2024, the Awards highlighted residency rights, sparking dialogue on one of the Maldives’ most significant social challenges. For 2026, MV+ has chosen to spotlight the alarming rise in cancer cases, which has now reached crisis levels in the country. The Awards will amplify awareness, encourage preventative action, and showcase the work of organisations, businesses, and individuals addressing cancer and other NCDs.

Applications are open now and will close on 31 March 2026.

The MV+ Community Impact Awards & Fundraiser 2026 will honour NGOs, businesses, and individuals making a tangible difference, while raising vital funds to support health-focused NGOs.
