BML WeRun – Corporates brings 18 teams together at Crossroads Maldives

The Maldives’ first corporate relay race, BML WeRun – Corporates, was held at Crossroads Maldives on Saturday, bringing together 18 teams from companies, institutions and organisations.

The event was organised by WeRun Maldives in partnership with Bank of Maldives (BML), with the aim of encouraging physical activity and teamwork among employees.

BML WeRun – Corporates was structured as a five-runner relay, with each participant completing a distance of one kilometre.

According to the organisers, the event was the first corporate relay race held in the Maldives. It was also the first race in the country to use timing chips embedded in relay batons to record participants’ times.

A total of 18 teams took part, comprising 11 men’s teams and seven women’s teams.

In the men’s category, the Track & Field Association won first place, followed by RunInMode Athletics in second place. Bank of Maldives finished third.

RunInMode Athletics won the women’s category, while Crossroads Island Sprinters finished second and ADK Synergy placed third.

Bank of Maldives has supported a number of sports and community programmes across the country, including initiatives aimed at encouraging participation in physical activity.
