Alia successfully concludes 11th boat operators training programme

Alia, in collaboration with the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT), has successfully concluded the 11th edition of the Boat Operators Training (BOT) Programme. This initiative reaffirms Alia’s commitment to advancing maritime competencies, promoting safety, and raising industry standards in the Maldives’ marine transport industry.

This year’s programme saw 50 participants from various resorts, marine transport operators, and government institutions. The training provided in-depth instruction on vessel handling, chart navigation, emergency response procedures, maritime safety, and onboard expertise. It also included practical sessions on first aid, fire safety, and basic outboard engine maintenance, acknowledging the growing complexity and responsibility of marine captains in the country.

Participants received certificates of completion at the closing ceremony, recognising their dedication and adherence to industry standards upheld throughout the programme. Many participants reported enhanced skills and increased confidence for their careers within the maritime sector.

Alia extended its gratitude to all supporting partners, trainers, and institutions for the success of the 2025 Boat Operators Training Programme. As the sole distributor of Yamaha Outboard Engines, Alia continues to lead in setting safety benchmarks and technical standards in the maritime field.
