Angsana Velavaru honours associates with Long Service Awards and unveils new associate restaurant

Angsana Velavaru achieved a significant milestone on November 28, 2024, by hosting a Long Service Award ceremony to celebrate the dedication of its associates. The event honoured team members who have completed five, ten, and fifteen years of service, recognising their vital contributions to maintaining the resort’s high standards and embodying the values of the Banyan Group.

Eddy See, President and CEO, and Phillip Lim, Head of Regional Operations and Group Specialist Services, joined General Manager Ahmed Zahir in presenting the awards. The ceremony highlighted a pivotal moment in Angsana Velavaru’s history, reaffirming the resort’s commitment to its associates, who form the foundation of the Angsana experience.

As part of its dedication to team members, the resort unveiled the newly renovated Midhili Restaurant, an exclusive space for associates. The renovation was a collaborative effort, with associates working under the guidance of General Manager Ahmed Zahir and department heads to create a welcoming environment. The redesigned space features cozy couches and a warm, inviting atmosphere, fostering relaxation and community among the staff.

Midhili Restaurant is the first facility of its kind to open under the Banyan Group’s global initiative to enhance associate spaces across its hotels and resorts. This initiative aims to create more supportive environments for staff, acknowledging their essential role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. As part of the program, the Banyan Group is modernising associate spaces worldwide to improve well-being, strengthen engagement, and build a sense of community among its workforce.

General Manager Ahmed Zahir expressed gratitude to the associates for their dedication, stating, “Our associates are the driving force behind the success of Angsana Velavaru. We remain committed to providing them with the resources, environment, and recognition they deserve. Today’s ceremony is about more than years of service; it’s about upholding the core values of care, passion, and respect — values that define everything we do.”

The ceremony emphasised Angsana Velavaru’s alignment with the brand’s principles of Respect, Innovation, Sustainability, and Passion for Service.
