BML completes 5 staff-led community projects under Islamic impact grant
Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the completion of five staff-led projects under BML Islamic’s Community Impact Grant, with two additional projects ongoing.
This grant was opened for BML staff on the occasion of BML Islamic’s 10th Anniversary in 2025, with the aim of strengthening the connection with local communities. Under this grant, staff partnered with local organisations to implement impactful community projects in 2 key strategic areas – environment and education.
The 5 completed projects are:
- Establishment of an outdoor reading and study area at Seenu Atoll School. The space includes weather-resistant benches, tables and a shaded roof structure designed to serve as a quiet, environment for reading, group study and personal reflection. The area, surrounded by natural greenery, aims to encourage peaceful, focused learning.
- Establishment of an outer boundary wall and dedicated Sand/ Water play area at Th. Atoll School. This project aims to create a joyful, engaging, and development-focused space for the children.
- Installation of benches in G.Dh. Atoll School grounds to improve comfort and accessibility. This initiative aims to provide a more comfortable, welcoming, and inclusive environment for parents, visitors, staff, and students by ensuring suitable seating areas within the school grounds.
- Enhancement of Medical Learning through a Student Resource Hub at Dharumavantha Hospital. The hub will provide essential medical textbooks and digital learning resources such as a 3D anatomy atlas subscription, microscopes to support learning, research, and practical training. Practical laboratory tools including binocular microscopes and electronic measurement devices.
- Establishment of a walkway in Muraidhoo School. The project aims to provide students, teachers, and parents with a secure pathway that connects classrooms, administrative offices, and outdoor areas. The walkway will ensure accessibility in all weather conditions while promoting a safer and more organised school environment.
