Caudwell Marine makes Maldives debut with AX300 Diesel Outboard launch
Caudwell Marine made its first official presence in the Maldives last week, hosting an exclusive media and industry launch briefing for the AX300 Diesel Outboard alongside its participation in the Maldives Marine Expo.
The invitation-only briefing brought together international media, professional operators, industry officials and partners for an early introduction to Caudwell Marine and its flagship AX300 Diesel Outboard. The event took place in parallel with the Maldives Marine Expo, reflecting the region’s importance as a demanding real-world operating environment for commercial marine vessels.
The Maldives is characterised by high-utilisation fleets, long daily run hours and year- round exposure to heat, saltwater and heavy operational loads. These conditions closely mirror the duty cycles the AX300 Diesel has been engineered to address, making the region a natural setting for the first public launch of Caudwell Marine’s commercial propulsion platform.

During the briefing, Caudwell Marine’s leadership and engineering team outlined the company’s Premium Endurance philosophy, explaining how it shapes the design, testing and validation of the AX300 Diesel Outboard. Attendees gained insight into the engineering approach behind the product, the rationale for diesel propulsion in commercial applications, and Caudwell Marine’s phased and responsible approach to market entry.
The AX300 Diesel has been developed specifically for professional and commercial operators who depend on predictable performance, efficiency and uptime over sustained duty cycles. Designed as a fully integrated propulsion system, the AX300 Diesel combines a high-torque diesel powerhead with a patented integrated steering system, drivetrain and control technologies, alongside a servicing architecture intended to support safe and practical maintenance in demanding working environments.

In addition to the formal briefing, invited guests had the opportunity to experience the AX300 Diesel on the water and engage in informal discussions with Caudwell Marine’s engineering and leadership teams. Caudwell Marine is also present at the Maldives Marine Expo, where visitors have the chance to learn more about the company’s approach and its plans for phased global introduction.
Commenting on the announcement, Sarah Simpson, CEO at Caudwell Marine, said: “The Maldives represents one of the most challenging operating environments for commercial marine propulsion. By hosting our first launch briefing here, alongside the Maldives Marine Expo, we are grounding the introduction of the AX300 Diesel in real- world conditions and real operator needs. This is about listening, demonstrating our approach, and beginning a long-term conversation with the industry.”
The Maldives briefing forms part of Caudwell Marine’s phased global launch programme for the AX300 Diesel Outboard, with further regional introductions planned across the Middle East, North America and Europe.
