Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2025 takes off this Friday
The Maldives’ largest running event, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2025, is scheduled to take place on Friday, 24 October, at Hulhumalé Central Park, drawing over 4,500 runners from both local and international communities.
Recognised as the first and only international run held in the Maldives, DMRR is officially listed in the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar and features a World Athletics-certified race route.
The event will unfold as follows:
- Half Marathon – starting at 2:30 hrs
- 10K Race – starting at 5:30 hrs
- 5K Race – starting at 16:30 hrs
Beyond the competition, Dhiraagu has organised a series of engaging activities to enhance the festive atmosphere. Runners and spectators alike can expect a special surprise along the 5K route, complemented by food stalls and live entertainment throughout the evening.
Continuing its long-standing commitment to social impact, DMRR 2025 will once again be dedicated to child protection, a key pillar of Dhiraagu’s corporate social responsibility efforts. The event serves as a platform for non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to advocate for children’s rights and raise funds to support their initiatives.
As part of this year’s programme, Dhiraagu will contribute MVR 200,000 to the top five endorsed NGOs nominated by participants during registration, helping to fund their upcoming projects. Additionally, MVR 100 from each participant’s registration fee, along with proceeds from the sale of special bib numbers, will be distributed equally among the endorsed partner NGOs.
Dhiraagu continues to share the latest event updates through its official social media channels. Further details are available at www.dmrr.mv.
