Dhiraagu named Maldives’ Broadband Telecom Company of the Year
Dhiraagu has been named the Maldives’ Broadband Telecom Company of the Year at the Asian Telecom Awards 2026.
The Asian Telecom Awards recognise achievements across the telecommunications industry in the region, highlighting initiatives and developments that contribute to shaping the digital landscape. The award presented to Dhiraagu acknowledges the company’s achievement in delivering 100 per cent high-speed fibre broadband access to every household across all inhabited islands in the Maldives.
Commenting on the recognition, Ismail Rasheed, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Dhiraagu, said the award reflects the company’s continued focus on providing reliable broadband services and advancing digital inclusion nationwide. He noted that mobile broadband coverage now reaches 100 per cent of the population, while high-speed fibre broadband through Fibre-to-the-Home services is available to every household on inhabited islands. He also thanked customers for their continued trust and support.
Dhiraagu currently provides full 4G broadband coverage across all inhabited islands, resort islands and major industrial islands. In addition to achieving nationwide FTTH coverage, the company’s 5G services now reach 73 per cent of the population.
The company has also received international recognition through the Ookla® Speedtest Awards™, where it was named the Fastest 5G Network, Best 5G Network and Best 5G Gaming Experience, based on Ookla® Speedtest Intelligence® data for the first half of 2025.
