Dhiraagu raises MVR 230,380 to support children under state care

Dhiraagu has successfully raised a total of MVR 230,380 through its ‘Donate on DhiraaguApp’ programme.

The contribution was formally presented to the Minister of Social and Family Development, Dr. Aishath Shiham, by Dhiraagu’s CEO and Managing Director, Ismail Rasheed. This total includes Dhiraagu’s committed contribution of MVR 150,000, along with generous donations made by the public via DhiraaguApp during Ramadan.

‘Donate on Dhiraagu App; was a special donation feature introduced during Ramadan as part of a one-month campaign to support children under state care. Through this initiative, customers were able to conveniently donate to Fiyavathi, Amaan Veshi, and Amaan Hiyaa. These are state care homes for children, with Fiyavathi serving the Greater Malé Region, while Amaan Veshi and Amaan Hiyaa provide care for children across the Maldives.

The funds raised will be used to support key programmes identified by the Ministry of Social and Family Development to improve the well-being and development of children under state care.

Dhiraagu remains committed to creating meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of children across the Maldives, with inclusion as a core pillar of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme. The company has continuously supported state care facilities over the years, including its nationwide provision of high-speed broadband internet to all Amaan Veshi and Amaan Hiyaa facilities across the country, enabling better access to digital literacy and education for children under state care.
