DMGC 2025 kicks off as Maldives’ largest esports tournament

The Dhiraagu Maldives Gaming Conquest (DMGC), the Maldives’ largest gaming event, officially commenced today at Ghiyasuddin International School, bringing together over 1,500 gamers from across the country.

DMGC 2025 will run over three consecutive days and feature a competitive four-game tournament format, designed to showcase the diverse skill sets of Maldivian gamers. A total prize pool of MVR 170,000 will be distributed among the winners.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mirshan Hassan, Director of Brand and Marketing Communications at Dhiraagu, stated: “Today marks a significant milestone in the history of gaming in the Maldives as we host the nation’s largest esports tournament. Through the Dhiraagu Gamers’ Guild (DGG), we are creating meaningful opportunities to highlight local talent while actively promoting Responsible Gaming — a core value that underpins our efforts to build a sustainable and thriving gaming community.”

Alongside the main competitions, DMGC 2025 will feature a variety of engaging side activities, including a Racing Simulation Zone, Virtual Reality (VR) Zone, Free-to-Play Stations, and Board Games, offering an immersive experience for all attendees. Additionally, a range of stalls will be available, offering food, beverages, gaming accessories, and more at special discounted prices.

This championship represents yet another milestone in Dhiraagu’s continued mission to advance the Maldivian gaming scene. It further strengthens DGG’s status as the country’s largest gaming platform and reaffirms the company’s commitment to the growth of esports in the Maldives.
