Maldivian hotelier Maain Shahid appointed as Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise’s Front Office Manager

The iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, set amidst the breathtaking Canadian Rockies, has announced the appointment of Maain Shahid as its new Front Office Manager. With a wealth of experience in luxury hospitality across some of the world’s most sought-after destinations, Maain brings his exceptional leadership and guest service expertise to one of Canada’s most cherished resorts.

Surrounded by soaring mountain peaks, the majestic Victoria Glacier, and a glistening emerald lake, the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise offers 5-star luxury amid unparalleled natural beauty. Guests can explore Banff National Park on guided tours or experience world-class skiing at one of three premier Rocky Mountain resorts. The hotel provides an indulgent escape with its renowned spa, seasonally inspired cuisine, and an exclusive Kid’s Adventure Camp. Each of the 539 rooms and suites is elegantly designed, offering a refined yet inviting ambiance that complements the breathtaking surroundings.

Prior to joining the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Maain served as the Front Office Manager at Norman’s Cay, an exclusive ultra-luxury island retreat in the Exumas, Bahamas. Before his move to the Caribbean, he played a pivotal role in the pre-opening and operations of Patina Maldives in the Fari Islands, where he advanced from Assistant Manager to Front Office Manager, earning recognition for his leadership and ability to foster a culture of excellence.

Maain’s career is marked by a series of prestigious assignments, including his tenure as Duty Manager at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi during its pre-opening and first operational year. He is a graduate of Hilton’s Management Development Programme and has held key front office roles at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, Hilton, and DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok. His journey in hospitality began with internships at renowned properties such as One&Only Reethi Rah and The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur.

An academic achiever, Maain holds a Bachelor’s Degree Double Major in Hospitality and Tourism Management from James Cook University Australia (Singapore Campus) and a Master of International Business in Hotel, Resort & Spa Management from the prestigious Swiss Hotel Management School in Leysin, Switzerland.
