Panel discussion at Hotelier Maldives GM Forum 2023: Streamlining business for changing landscape

The upcoming Hotelier Maldives General Managers (GM) Forum 2023 will feature an engaging panel discussion titled “Streamlining Business to Respond to the Changing Economic and Tourism Landscape.” The event is set to take place at Bandos Maldives on October 19, 2023.

The panel is designed to explore the strategies and best practices that businesses and properties within the Maldives’ tourism industry employ to streamline their operations and adapt to the evolving economic and tourism landscape. Additionally, the discussion will shed light on the valuable lessons learned and the challenges faced by these industry leaders in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ongoing global economic downturn linked to new and emerging shocks.

Hassan Saeed, Resort Manager of Dhigali Maldives, will guide the panel discussion as the moderator. The panel will consist of four distinguished experts, each representing different segments of the industry:

  • Solah Mohamed: Solah Mohamed, Chief Operating Officer of Crown & Champa Resorts, will provide insights into how the global and domestic economic volatility, coupled with the COVID-19 pandemic, has affected business performance and outlook. He will share measures and initiatives that have been implemented or are planned to cope with these challenges.
  • Mohamed Ashraf: As the General Manager of Jumeirah Maldives, Mohamed Ashraf will discuss how technology is leveraged to streamline business operations and enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability. He will also touch upon the tools and technologies that are instrumental in this process.
  • Sachin Koshe: Sachin Koshe, Senior Business Development Manager at OTA Insight, will provide expertise on optimising revenue management and distribution strategies using technology. He will highlight tools and platforms that help maximize occupancy, rates, and profitability.
  • Althaf Ali: Althaf Ali, Chief Operating Officer of Pulse Hotels & Resorts, will share insights into diversifying products and services to cater to evolving customer preferences and demands. He will also discuss how businesses target new or emerging segments or markets.

The panel discussion is scheduled to last for one hour and will address the following key questions:

  • How do you diversify your products or services to cater to changing customer preferences and demands? What are some of the new or emerging segments or markets that you target or plan to target?

This panel discussion promises to be an insightful and informative session, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of how businesses in the Maldives’ tourism industry adapt and thrive in a dynamic landscape.

The Hotelier Maldives GM Forum 2023, which is the most anticipated event for hoteliers in the Maldives, will be held at Bandos Maldives resort on October 19, 2023.
