St. Regis Maldives Vommuli claims Dhaalu Zone title at Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025

The Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 Dhaalu Zone concluded on 14 September 2025 at the Bandidhoo Futsal Ground, hosted by Sun Siyam Iru Veli. The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli emerged as Dhaalu Atoll Champion after a decisive 5–0 victory over Angsana Velavaru in the final.

The event opened with the national anthem and was attended by chief guests including Ameeg Ismail, HR Director of Angsana Velavaru; Mohamed Moosa, Council President of Dhaalu Bandidhoo; Nagi Mankarious, Resort Manager of The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli; Lakshmi, Cluster Director of Finance at Sun Siyam Resorts; Mohamed Athif, HR Director of The St. Regis Maldives; Mohamed Najah, Resort Manager of Sun Siyam Iru Veli; Shimhad Ali, HR Director of Sun Siyam Iru Veli; and Ahmed Zahir, General Manager of Angsana Velavaru.

The St. Regis Maldives took control of the match early, scoring twice in the first half. The team extended their lead with three more goals in the second half, sealing a comfortable 5–0 win to secure the zone title.

The closing ceremony honoured both team and individual performances across the Dhaalu Zone tournament:

  • Final Man of the Match – Shafeeu Hassan (#11, The St. Regis Maldives), presented by Ameeg Ismail, HR Director, Angsana Velavaru.
  • Fair Play Team – Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, presented by Mohamed Moosa, Council President of Dhaalu Bandidhoo.
  • Best Coach – Ali Sareer (The St. Regis Maldives), presented by Nagi Mankarious, Resort Manager, The St. Regis Maldives.
  • Best Goalkeeper – Ali Junaid (#33, The St. Regis Maldives), presented by Lakshmi, Cluster Director of Finance, Sun Siyam Resorts.
  • Top Five Players – Ali Junaid (#33, The St. Regis Maldives), Mohamed Shaah (#10, Angsana Velavaru), Shafeeu Hassan (#11, The St. Regis Maldives), Ali Shaamiu (#3, Angsana Velavaru), and Shayaan Mohamed (#27, Sun Siyam Vilu Reef), presented by Mohamed Athif, HR Director, The St. Regis Maldives.
  • Top Scorer – Shafeeu Hassan (#11, The St. Regis Maldives) with seven goals, presented by Mohamed Najah, Resort Manager, Sun Siyam Iru Veli.
  • Best Player of the Tournament – Amil Ali (#6, The St. Regis Maldives), presented by Shimhad Ali, HR Director, Sun Siyam Iru Veli.
  • Runner-Up Team – Angsana Velavaru, presented by Mohamed Najah, Resort Manager, Sun Siyam Iru Veli, and Ahmed Zahir, General Manager, Angsana Velavaru.
  • Champion Team – The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli, presented by Mohamed Najah, Resort Manager, Sun Siyam Iru Veli, and Ahmed Zahir, General Manager, Angsana Velavaru.

With this victory, The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli secured the Dhaalu Zone Champion title for 2025 and advanced to face the Alif Alif Zone winner for the South Zone crown.

The Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 will continue with the Alif Alif Zone, hosted at Kuramathi Maldives, beginning on 25 September 2025.
