Velaa Private Island secures zone final spot in Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025

Velaa Private Island delivered a commanding performance in the Tekkers Dhiraagu Resort Cup 2025 Zone Semi-Final, where the Noonu Zone champion faced off against the Lhaviyani Zone champion, Le Meridien Maldives. Velaa secured a 4-1 victory, striking early with two goals in the first half to take control of the game. They added a third in the second half, then extended their lead to 4-0 with a strong attack. Le Meridien pulled one back late in the match, but Velaa’s dominance was clear from start to finish.

Man of the Match Ibrahim Najaah (#15) stood out with his exceptional control and leadership on the pitch.

Reflecting on the match, Najaah shared: “Alhamdulillah, first of all. I’m very satisfied with how the match went. We’ve faced some tough, highstakes games with barely a day to rest between matches, so the team was understandably tired. Despite that, I want to applaud my teammates for their effort and resilience on the field today. Our focus remains on the big prize; bringing the trophy back to Velaa.”

Following this Zone semi-final victory, Velaa Private Island advances to the Zone Final, where they will face the winner of the upcoming clash between the Raa Atoll Champion and the Baa Atoll Champion.
