Maldives wins Best Remote Beach Destination award
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Maldives has won the award for Best Remote Beach Destination at the annual Condé Nast Traveller Middle East Readers’ Choice Awards.
The awards ceremony took place on 14 November at the Park Hyatt Dubai.
Musab Abdulla, Counsellor at the Embassy of Maldives in Abu Dhabi accepted the award on behalf of Maldives.
“By securing this year’s award Maldives has proven that the Destination is one of the most popular beach destination in the Middle East,” the Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation said in a press statement.
The Maldives was nominated alongside Seychelles and Zanzibar.
Dusit Thani Maldives also won the award for Favourite Hotel or Resort for Families.
Sonu Shivdasani, Founder and CEO of Soneva, won the Special Recognition Award.
Singapore Airlines won the award for Favourite Airline Business Cabin (International operator) with Emirates winning Favourite Airline Business Cabin (Middle East operator).
This year, the awards were focused on honouring the future of luxury travel. Hence, nominees and the award categories were customised to achieve this goal.
The nominees and the winner of this year’s Reader Choice awards were destinations, Hotels and Resort which offered a more experiential, authentic experience to vacationers.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
