TMA strengthens its position as world’s largest seaplane operator
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has added another aircraft to its existing fleet, further strengthened its position as the world’s largest seaplane operator.
The additional aircraft, a De Havilland DHC-6 Series 300, arrived in Maldive at Velana International Airport (VIA) on March 21, 2017, after completing its journey from Calgary city in Canada.
TMA’s fleet expansion comes in-line with the growing tourist arrivals and increasing bed capacity with the new resorts opening in the Maldives. In 2016, TMA operated over 120,000 flights, transferring close to a million passengers including 80,000 residents.
With the commencement of international operations to Gan International Airport, TMA has also introduced seaplane services to resorts in the Southern Atolls (Seenu Atoll, Gaafu Alifu & Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll). TMA operated its inaugural seaplane flight from Amari Havodda Maldives to GAN Airport on the 3rd of December 2016.
With this inaugural, very exquisite service, TMA is also looking to further expand its services in the Southern region of the Maldives.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
