Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru unveils the Flying Triggerfish

Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru unveils the Flying Triggerfish – a customised DHC-6-300 Twin Otter aeroplane dedicated for its guests. The aircraft, which features eight extra-wide VIP Muirhead leather seats, is being operated by Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA), the world’s largest seaplane operator.

Set to become one of the most luxurious and Instagrammable seaplanes ever to grace the Maldivian skies, the flight cruises at just 3500 feet, allowing guests to marvel in comfort at the Maldives’ pearl-like islands during airport transfers to and from Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, private charters, island-hopping excursions and seaplane surfaris.

“We wanted to design a plane that celebrates the vibrancy of our destination,” says Armando Kraenzlin, Four Seasons Resorts Maldives Regional Vice President. “The Flying Triggerfish offers seamless Four Seasons service and style from the moment guests arrive, in a unique and exciting way.”

Inspired by the colourful Picasso triggerfish found in Maldivian waters, the private plane is completely customised inside and out, from luxuriously refurbished floor, ceiling and sidewalls to an enhanced Garmin 950NXi avionics suite. With half the number of seats of a commuter seaplane, guests can stretch out in comfort and enjoy Four Seasons amenities such as noise-cancelling headphones.

The Flying Triggerfish is one of two seaplane transfer options available to guests of Landaa Giraavaru, which is located in Baa Atoll – a 35-minute flight from Velana International Airport. In addition to the Flying Triggerfish, the Resort utilises the services of Trans Maldivian Airways’ 14-seat seaplanes.

Regardless of their choice, guests will be greeted by Four Seasons representatives and escorted to the seaplane check-in. For added convenience, opt to complete immigration formalities in the comfort of Velana International Airport’s CIP Lounge.

Flying Triggerfish transfers are available to book per person per way or as private customised charters for up to eight persons. Private charters include CIP services. Island-hopping excursions and seaplane surfaris are also available. For more information, visit www.fourseasons.com/maldives.
