Jumeirah Olhahali Island appoints Chef Nonky as Executive Chef

Jumeirah Olhahali Island has announced the appointment of Chef Nurmaningsih Tejapermana, known as Chef Nonky, as the Maldivian resort’s new Executive Chef.

Chef Nonky brings over two decades of distinguished experience in the upscale hospitality industry and is a veteran member of Jumeirah, having accumulated a wealth of knowledge through key positions at top international destinations and highly acclaimed establishments including Jumeirah Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai. Her journey has taken her to work with leading resorts, cruises and airlines across several continents—from the Maldives to the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, Australia and beyond—showcasing her deep commitment to culinary excellence, exploration and innovation.

In her new role, Chef Nonky will helm the resort’s culinary operations, infusing each dish with her signature creativity and global flair. A native of Indonesia and a seasoned professional with credentials from some of the world’s most prestigious hotel chains including Jumeirah, Four Seasons, Shangri-La and the Mandarin Oriental Group, Chef Nonky is celebrated for crafting unforgettable dining experiences that are not only unique to the destination but also emblematic of five-star service.

At Jumeirah Olhahali Island, Chef Nonky will lead the culinary vision across the resort’s four waterfront dining outlets. Guests can look forward to a reimagined experience at the award-winning Kayto, where Japanese-Peruvian Nikkei cuisine is presented in a relaxed setting. Shimmers, known for its Mediterranean and Greek flavours, will delight diners with its homemade artisan pizzas served in a blissful beach club atmosphere, while Glow will continue to offer global flavours with a focus on health-conscious options for all-day dining. In addition to these signature restaurants, Chef Nonky will also oversee an extensive array of curated set menus, ranging from Maldivian and Indian to Middle Eastern and beyond, ensuring that every meal at Jumeirah Olhahali Island is a celebration of flavour and artistry.
