Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort invites Instagram followers to choose AI-generated Christmas theme

In preparation for the festive season, the team at Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort has utilised the creativity of artificial intelligence (AI) to generate ideas for this year’s Christmas theme. Following AI’s prompts, four imaginative themes were created: Tropical Wonderland, Candy Cane Christmas, Frosted Paradise, and Santa’s Surf Shack. The resort’s Instagram followers now have the opportunity to decide which theme will shape the resort’s Christmas celebrations this year.

These four themes will be showcased on the @AvaniMaldives Instagram account on 15 October at 10am MVT, allowing the public 24 hours to vote for their favourite festive theme through an exclusive poll. The AI-generated image receiving the most votes will inspire the resort’s festive experiences through the end of 2024. The winning theme will be announced on 16 October.

The first theme, Tropical Wonderland, reimagines the Maldivian sugarloaf shores as a snow-dusted landscape with a tropical twist. A majestic Christmas tree stands at the centre, its crown nearly reaching the palm trees, with branches adorned with baubles, seashells, and coral-like flowers, illuminated by twinkling fairy lights. Flickering candles line the paths leading to the beach, adding a touch of wonderment.

For those with a sweet tooth, Candy Cane Christmas features giant striped candy canes as tall as tree trunks, twisted into various shapes by AI’s algorithms. These include beanbags, lamp-like stalagmites, and even a cosy campfire for gathering around to enjoy s’mores and cocoa. The flamingo-pink hue adds a playful touch, evoking a sense of childhood joy.

Frosted Paradise offers a regal, ice-cold experience, evoking a white Christmas fantasy reminiscent of Lapland, complete with reindeer rides, snow castles on the beach, and Northern Lights glimpsed from an igloo. Guests can build snow castles and sip eggnog in a fairy-light-adorned gazebo, making this a Santa-approved winter wonderland.

Lastly, Santa’s Surf Shack caters to guests familiar with celebrating Christmas by the ocean. In this laid-back scene, Santa runs a beach shack adorned with wreaths, with surfboards lining the shore path. Nearby, sun loungers are surrounded by gifts shimmering under a bright blue sky, creating a relaxed holiday atmosphere.
