Tourism Ministry opens bids for eco-friendly hotel development in HA. Baarah

The Ministry of Tourism announced on Monday the opening of tenders for the construction and operation of a tourist hotel in HA. Baarah.

This initiative supports President Mohamed Muizzu’s campaign pledge to boost tourism in Baarah, a promise he made during visits to local councils before the recent parliamentary elections.

A total of 71,832 acres of land have been allocated for tourism development as part of this project.

The tender process is open to both local and international investors, inviting proposals for the development of an eco-friendly tourist hotel aimed at promoting regional growth and creating new job opportunities for the local community.

A virtual bid information meeting will be held via Zoom on Monday, October 28, at 11 a.m. to provide potential investors with important details, including technical specifications, environmental considerations, and operational guidelines.

Bids are to be submitted by 10 a.m. on December 5.

For further information or clarification regarding the project or the tender process, interested parties can contact the Ministry of Tourism by email at planning@tourism.gov.mv. All queries must be submitted no later than 12 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4.
