
Maldives Inflight Catering announces partnerships to enhance training, brand Visibility
Maldives Inflight Catering (MIC) has entered into a series of strategic partnerships aimed at expanding vocational training, industry collaboration, and media engagement in the Maldivian hospitality sector.
Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) were signed with the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MFSD), Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB), Public Service Media (PSM), and Villa College, reinforcing MIC Group’s commitment to developing industry talent and providing new opportunities for aspiring professionals, while simultaneously ensuring guests are well-informed about the group’s initiatives and that their experiences remain at the finest standards.
The agreement with the Ministry of Social and Family Development, signed by Minister of State Aishath Zuhurubaan, focuses on vocational training and internship opportunities for underprivileged youth, offering them structured career pathways in the hospitality industry. Through this initiative, the MIC Group will provide hands-on training at its properties, including Madifushi Private Island and Hulhule Island Hotel (HIH), ensuring participants gain industry-relevant skills.
MIC Group’s MOU with Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB), signed by Chief Business Officer Hammaadh Rasheed, appoints MIB as the title sponsor for Hulhule Island Hotel Ramadan initiatives. This collaboration ensures that guests enjoy the best Iftar experience of the year at Hulhule Island Hotel.
The partnership with Public Service Media (PSM), signed by Managing Director Ibrahim Nasreen, formalizes media coverage and promotional activities to highlight MIC Group’s training programs, industry collaborations, and hospitality initiatives. As part of this agreement, Maldives TV was officially inaugurated at Hulhule Island Hotel, providing a dedicated platform to showcase the brand’s initiatives and exclusive offerings, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
Villa College, represented by Vice Rector Dr Ali Najeeb, signed an agreement facilitating internship placements for hospitality students, bridging academic learning with real-world industry experience. MIC Group will offer internship opportunities at all units of MIC Group, ensuring students gain practical exposure to hospitality operations in a professional environment.
Reflecting on the collaborations, Ali Shakir, Group General Manager of MIC Group, emphasised the transformative impact of these partnerships in shaping the future of hospitality training in the Maldives. He highlighted MIC Group’s dedication to providing education, hands-on experience, and career opportunities that empower young professionals and elevate industry standards.
