Adria Cemara steps into the role of Senior Learning Manager, while Ameeg Ismail assumes the position of Assistant Director of Human Capital. A lifelong advocate of learning, Adria Cemara embarked on her journey with Banyan Group over 11 years ago as an English teacher, nurturing communication skills within the organisation. Her passion for talent developments propelled her into learning and development roles across five distinct brands within the group, where she honed her expertise in training, leadership, and organisational development.

Since joining Angsana Velavaru, Cemara has been instrumental in refining onboarding processes, embedding Banyan Group’s culture through structured training, and spearheading high-potential associate programmes. Her leadership has driven a remarkable threefold increase in learning programme completion rates, ensuring a culture of continuous professional growth.

Now overseeing learning and development across ten properties in Indonesia and the Maldives, Cemara’s vision is clear: to cultivate future hospitality leaders through strategic training initiatives, mentorships, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. “Seeing individuals transform, gain confidence, and advance in their careers is my greatest motivation,” she shares. “This new role allows me to make an impact on a larger scale, fostering a dynamic learning environment across multiple properties.”

Ameeg Ismail

With a career spanning nearly two decades in hospitality, Ameeg Ismail’s journey is one of the steadfast dedication and progressive leadership. From his early days as a waiter at Angsana Maldives Ihuru (now Dhawa Ihuru) to rising through ranks in Human Resources, his career has taken him across renowned properties in the Maldives and the UAE.

Since joining Angsana Velavaru in 2019, Ameeg has been at the forefront of talent engagements and organisational development. Under his leadership, the resort has consistently achieved employee satisfaction scores exceeding 90%, retained 86% of its workforce, and implemented innovative recruitment and retention strategies. His expertise is aligning HR practices with business objectives has cemented Angsana Velavaru as a destination where talent thrives.
