Six Senses Laamu has introduced a range of wellness programmes for children. These programmes will be conducted at the children’s club, the Den, and will educate young children about nutritious food, better exercise, and healthy living. The resort aims to make sure that every guest that leaves the island, does so as a better person- physically, mentally, and spiritually.
Different wellness activities will be available at the Den, including an introduction to meditation during a music class, how to create sounds with singing bowls, basic tai chi movements and many more. Specially designed yoga classes for children will be introduced by the yoga instructor. The resort also makes it possible for families to reserve the room for private yoga sessions. The yogi will guide the parents into helping incorporate yoga and meditation into the young child’s everyday life, by giving them tips and ideas on how to do such. Parents will also be given more insight on the benefits of yoga and meditation in young children.
Nutrition experts will introduce interactive games, teach the children about why some food/fruits and vegetables are better than others, and where the ingredients come from. The children will be given a tour of the organic garden, and will be asked to make their own healthy drinks by picking out their favourite fruits from the garden to mix with the smoothies and juices they make for themselves.
The resort’s spa also offers children’s treatments including foot rubs, head massages, foot and shoulder rubs, mini manicures, facials and hair braiding. Children aged 9 to 16 years are always welcome at the spa when accompanied by an adult.
To go with the wellness exercises and programmes, Chef Martin has also introduced a menu of healthy food, especially for the children. The Children’s Wellness Menu will include organic, healthy food such as gluten free pasta, vegetable burgers, pizza’s, summer rolls filled with fresh fruits and vegetables.
