SAii Lagoon Maldives hosts inaugural local Padel Tennis tournament on World Tourism Day

SAii Lagoon Maldives, Curio Collection by Hilton, part of SAii Hotels & Resorts under S Hotels & Resorts, marked World Tourism Day with its first-ever local Padel Tennis tournament held at the resort’s recently opened courts.

The tournament brought together local sporting talents, members of the Maldives Padel Association, MNDF runners, football coaches, and community representatives, reflecting the resort’s commitment to fostering an active and inclusive sporting culture. Teams competed in a spirited series of matches that highlighted teamwork, skill, and fair play. The winners received a trophy and a dinner voucher for two, while a lucky draw rewarded five participants with complimentary one-hour Padel Tennis sessions. The event concluded with a high tea reception, offering guests an opportunity to network and celebrate the day.

This initiative marks the first community event hosted on the Padel Tennis courts since their opening in March. Building on this milestone, SAii Lagoon Maldives also announced the launch of its Padel Tennis Membership Programme, which provides members with daily court access, discounts on private lessons, tournament participation, Beach Club entry, spa benefits, and Kid’s Club privileges. Special packages have been introduced for students and youth to encourage wider engagement with the sport and to inspire the next generation of players.
