Inaugural World Cake Artistry Awards bring global cake artists together in Maldives

The inaugural World Cake Artistry Awards marked a defining moment for the global cake design community, celebrating not only exceptional talent but the cumulation of a bold vision of a stage where artists from diverse nations could stand as equals and where edible art could form a bridge between cultures.

Founded by Mujuthaba Abdulla, a local entrepreneur, cake artist and educator, the awards were established upon a simple yet powerful conviction: that cake artistry is not merely a craft, but a legitimate and sophisticated art form which deserves international recognition, professional standards, and a global platform. A platform where excellence would be judged with integrity, where innovation would be celebrated, and where cultural expression could be honoured.

Held at Kurumba Maldives, the award ceremony brought together artists, judges and industry leaders from around the world, honouring not only the winners, but the entire international cake artistry community, recognising dedication, creativity, and innovation through storytelling and edible design.

The awards attracted over 800 entries from 38 countries. Finalists were selected by a distinguished panel of international judges reinforcing the awards’ commitment to high global standards. Artists and nominees were recognised as ambassadors of creativity whose work reflects heritage, imagination, and technical mastery.

Sponsors and strategic partners were also acknowledged for investing in the future of an industry built on innovation and artistic excellence.
