Hotelier Maldives names Storm Events as Organising Partner for Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026
Hotelier Maldives has announced Storm Events, part of Think Maldives, as the Organising Partner of the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026, marking the second consecutive year the events agency will lead the delivery of Hotelier Maldives’ flagship industry programmes.
Storm Events previously served as the Organising Partner of the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025 and the GM Forum 2025, supporting end-to-end event planning and execution in collaboration with the Hotelier Maldives team and key industry stakeholders.
Presented by Bestbuy Maldives (BBM), the Hotelier Maldives Awards recognise the contributions of resort-based hospitality professionals across the Maldives, celebrating both individual excellence and team performance. First launched in 2024, the awards remain the country’s only dedicated programme focused exclusively on recognising resort-based hospitality professionals.
“Nominations for this year’s awards programme have demonstrated the depth of talent across the Maldivian resort sector, with a record number of submissions,” said Ali Naafiz, Editor of Hotelier Maldives. “As we move into the next phase of the awards cycle, having a proven Organising Partner is essential to delivering a credible, high-quality gala experience. Storm Events brought strong operational discipline and creativity to our flagship events last year, and we are pleased to continue this partnership for 2026.”
Nominations for the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026 closed on 9 February 2026, following a week-long extension. The programme recorded more than 460 submissions from resorts across the Maldives’ 179 operational properties, reflecting broad participation across market segments, including local and international resort groups.
Hotelier Maldives will open public voting on 15 March 2026, with voting remaining open for one month. A panel of judges will review and shortlist eligible nominations ahead of the public voting phase.
The Hotelier Maldives Awards 2026 gala ceremony will be held on 26 April 2026 at Kurumba Maldives, bringing together hospitality professionals, industry leaders and stakeholders to celebrate excellence across the Maldivian resort sector.
Commenting on the renewed collaboration, Ismail Maiz, Agency Director at Think Associates and Storm Events, said: “It is a privilege to continue as Organising Partner for the Hotelier Maldives Awards for a second year. These events have become an important platform for recognising the people who drive the Maldives’ hospitality industry every day. Our focus will be on delivering a seamless experience for nominees, partners and guests—from the voting period through to the gala night—while maintaining the integrity and prestige the awards represent.”
As Organising Partner, Storm Events will support planning and on-ground coordination across the awards cycle, including the gala ceremony and stakeholder engagement, in close collaboration with Hotelier Maldives and the programme’s partners.
