The Nautilus Maldives appoints Philippe Cavory as new General Manager
The Nautilus Maldives has appointed Philippe Cavory as General Manager of the ultra-luxury private island resort in Baa Atoll.
Cavory brings more than three decades of international experience in luxury hospitality, including resort leadership, pre-openings, operations and guest experience design. The resort said his appointment comes as The Nautilus continues efforts to strengthen its position in the high-end hospitality market.
His career has included roles across the Maldives, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Morocco, Mauritius and Singapore. Over the years, he has led resort openings, repositionings and operations, with a focus on service standards, financial performance and guest experience.
Cavory has previously held leadership positions in the Maldives with Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, Soneva Fushi and Cheval Blanc Randheli. The resort said this experience gives him a strong understanding of the destination and its luxury tourism market.
The Nautilus said Cavory is known for a hands-on management style, commercial focus and team leadership. It added that his approach reflects the resort’s emphasis on personalised service and what it describes as unscripted luxury.
Commenting on his appointment, Cavory said he was honoured to join The Nautilus Maldives, describing the resort as a property defined by individuality and a distinct sense of place. He said he looked forward to working with the team to build on the resort’s foundations and further develop the guest experience.
Frederic Brohez, chief operating officer of Pulse Hotels & Resorts, said Cavory brings experience in ultra-luxury hospitality and a leadership style suited to The Nautilus. He said Cavory’s background in operational performance and preserving the identity of a property made him well placed to lead the resort.
The resort said the appointment comes as Pulse Hotels & Resorts continues its growth strategy in the Maldives. The Nautilus, which operates 26 private beach and ocean houses and residences, remains one of the group’s boutique luxury properties in the country.
