National Hotels & Guesthouse Association of Maldives endorses TechEng 2026

The National Hotels and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM) has officially endorsed TechEng 2026, reaffirming its support for initiatives that promote innovation, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth across the Maldives’ hospitality sector.

Scheduled to take place from 6–8 October 2026 at Central Park, Hulhumalé, TechEng 2026 is the Maldives’ only B2B engineering and technology expo for hospitality. Building on the success of the inaugural edition, the event will once again bring together hospitality operators, developers, technology providers, engineers, and infrastructure stakeholders from across the industry.

The first edition of TechEng welcomed over 500 industry attendees, 30+ exhibiting brands, and facilitated more than 100 business meetings, with 70% of attendees representing decision-making roles within their organisations.

The continued endorsement from NHGAM highlights the increasing importance of practical and accessible technologies in supporting hotels, resorts, and the rapidly growing guesthouse sector within the Maldives.

In its endorsement letter, NHGAM recognised TechEng as a practical and forward-looking platform that supports the evolving needs of the tourism industry through innovation, sustainability, operational efficiency, and smart infrastructure solutions. The association also highlighted the event’s relevance in promoting accessible and cost-effective technologies that contribute to long-term operational resilience within the hospitality sector.

Commenting on the endorsement, Abdulla Nasheed, President of the National Hotels and Guesthouse Association of Maldives, stated: “We recognise the importance of initiatives such as TechEng in promoting innovation, operational efficiency, sustainability, and smart infrastructure solutions that are increasingly relevant to hotels, resorts, and especially the growing guesthouse sector. The event’s focus on accessible and cost-effective technologies aligns well with the industry’s ongoing efforts to improve service standards and strengthen long-term operational resilience.”

Mohamed Shinan, Managing Director of TechEng Expo, added: “NHGAM’s continued endorsement highlights the growing demand for practical and cost-effective technologies across the hospitality sector, particularly within the rapidly expanding guesthouse segment. TechEng 2026 aims to create stronger connections between hospitality operators and solution providers, while supporting more efficient, sustainable, and future-ready operations across the industry.”

TechEng 2026 will showcase solutions across ten core sectors, including power generation, power distribution, water systems, mechanical systems, ELV & ICT systems, wastewater & sewage, transport & logistics, hospitality apps & software, auxiliary services & equipment, and service providers.

The event aims to provide a focused business platform for companies and stakeholders to explore emerging technologies, strengthen partnerships, and support the future development of hospitality infrastructure in the Maldives.
