Meet Miuna Hassan, the learning & development leader behind Madifushi Private Island
Madifushi Private Island is highlighting Miuna Hassan, affectionately known as Miu, the Training Manager, whose passion for people development and service excellence continues to shape the learning culture across the resort.
Promoted to the role of Training Manager in March 2025, Miuna has played an instrumental role in strengthening Learning & Development initiatives, driving quality assurance standards, and fostering a culture of continuous learning that supports both employee growth and exceptional guest experiences.
With several years of experience in luxury hospitality, Miuna has built an impressive career across some of the Maldives’ leading resort brands, including LUX* South Ari Atoll, Atmosphere Core and Siyam World. Her expertise spans learning and development, employee engagement, quality assurance, leadership coaching and organisational culture, making her a valuable asset to the Madifushi team.
Throughout her career, Miuna has successfully delivered extensive luxury service training programmes, including Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star standards, while designing onboarding programmes that have helped hundreds of team members embrace strong service values from the very beginning of their journey. Her commitment to nurturing talent and empowering people continues to contribute to the high standards of hospitality that define Madifushi Private Island. Miuna holds several internationally recognised professional qualifications, including Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT), Certified Hospitality Department Trainer (CHDT), Certified Guest Service Professional (CGSP), and Certified Hospitality Butler, Miuna brings industry-recognized expertise in guest service excellence and professional training, further strengthening the resort’s commitment to developing exceptional talent
In her current role, Miuna leads the resort’s Learning & Development strategy, oversees quality assurance initiatives, facilitates cross-departmental training and coaching, and manages training documentation, compliance and employee engagement programmes. Her work ensures that every team member is equipped with the knowledge, confidence and skills required to deliver memorable guest experiences.
Reflecting on her journey, Miuna shared: “For me, Learning & Development has never been just about delivering training sessions. It is about helping people discover their potential, build confidence, and create opportunities for growth. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to learn from exceptional mentors who invested their time and knowledge in me. Their guidance shaped who I am today, and I believe the greatest way to honour that is by passing those lessons on to others. Watching someone develop new skills, gain confidence, and succeed in their career is one of the most rewarding parts of my profession.
