Visit Maldives campaign generates 160 million digital impressions in one month

Visit Maldives Corporation has announced exceptional results from its latest month-long digital marketing campaign promoting the Maldives across YouTube, Instagram, Google and Yandex.

In just one month, the campaign generated more than 160 million digital impressions, over 22 million video views and more than 600,000 sessions on the Visit Maldives website. It also reached over 10 million people worldwide, while website sessions from targeted geographical markets increased by as much as 54%.

The results demonstrate the extraordinary global appeal of the Maldives and the effectiveness of Visit Maldives’ increasingly data-driven approach to destination marketing. By combining inspirational destination content with advanced audience targeting, search advertising and remarketing, the campaign engaged travellers throughout the decision-making journey, from discovering and dreaming about the Maldives to actively researching and planning their holidays.

The campaign utilised the respective strengths of YouTube, Instagram, Google and Yandex to connect with carefully selected audiences across key source markets. The significant growth in website traffic from targeted markets demonstrates that the campaign went beyond creating awareness and successfully encouraged potential travellers to actively explore the Maldives as their next holiday destination.

“Achieving more than 160 million impressions and 22 million video views within a single month is an outstanding result for the Maldives. More importantly, the campaign generated 600,000 website sessions, showing that audiences were not simply viewing our content, but were actively engaging with the destination and considering travel to the Maldives,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and MD of Visit Maldives Corporation.

“These results reflect our commitment to making every marketing investment more targeted, measurable and impactful. At a crucial time for the tourism industry, we are ensuring that the Maldives remains highly visible, competitive and desirable within the global travel marketplace.”

The campaign forms part of Visit Maldives’ wider efforts to stimulate demand through targeted digital advertising, high-intent search activity, video storytelling and remarketing. It focused on markets with strong connectivity, resilient demand and significant potential for visitor growth.

“This campaign was built around performance, precision and continuous optimisation,” said Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives Corporation. “The scale of the impressions and video views has strengthened destination awareness, while the growth in website sessions demonstrates genuine travel interest. The increase of up to 54% in sessions from targeted markets is particularly encouraging and confirms that our strategy is reaching the right travellers at the right time.”

Visit Maldives will continue to analyse audience behaviour, market response and campaign performance to optimise future activities, increase qualified website traffic and convert global interest in the Maldives into stronger travel demand.
