Maldivian hotelier Maain Shahid appointed Hotel Manager at Cabot Revelstoke Mountain Lodge

Cabot Revelstoke Mountain Lodge has announced the appointment of Maain Shahid as its new Hotel Manager, marking a¬n exciting new chapter in his hospitality career and bringing his extensive international luxury resort experience to one of British Columbia’s most anticipated new mountain destinations.

Set to open in 2027 and located at the base of Mount Mackenzie within the renowned Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Cabot Revelstoke Mountain Lodge is a new 155-room luxury slopeside hotel designed to become the central hub for four-season adventures in Revelstoke. The lodge will feature a signature spa, fitness centre, 400-guest ballroom, dedicated heli-skiing lounge, and a selection of dining experiences including Chop Steakhouse & Bar and Giovanni’s boutique coffee shop.

The property will also serve as the new home base for Selkirk Tangiers Heli Skiing, with a private lounge and bar and an adjacent helipad, while its location places guests steps away from the spectacular 18-hole mountain golf course designed by renowned architect Rod Whitman. The wider Cabot Revelstoke development will further introduce a collection of luxury alpine residences, establishing the destination as a premier year-round resort community combining exceptional hospitality, outdoor adventure, golf, and alpine living.

Prior to joining Cabot Revelstoke Mountain Lodge, Maain served as Front Office Manager at the iconic Fairmont Château Lake Louise, where he gained valuable experience leading guest operations at one of Canada’s most celebrated mountain resorts. His tenure at Fairmont followed an international career spanning some of the world’s most distinctive luxury destinations, including the Bahamas, the Maldives, and Southeast Asia.

Before moving to Canada, Maain was Front Office Manager at Norman’s Cay, an exclusive ultra-luxury island retreat in the Exumas, Bahamas. Prior to that, he played an integral role in the pre-opening and operations of Patina Maldives in the Fari Islands, progressing from Assistant Manager to Front Office Manager and earning recognition for his leadership, operational expertise, and ability to cultivate a culture of service excellence.

His career also includes a pivotal assignment at Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi, where he joined during its pre-opening and first operational year as Duty Manager. He is a graduate of Hilton’s Management Development Programme and has held front office leadership positions with Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, Hilton, and DoubleTree by Hilton Sukhumvit Bangkok. His hospitality journey began through internships with internationally renowned properties including One&Only Reethi Rah and The Ritz-Carlton, Kuala Lumpur.

An academically accomplished hospitality professional, Maain holds a Bachelor’s Degree with a Double Major in Hospitality and Tourism Management from James Cook University Australia, Singapore Campus, as well as a Master of International Business in Hotel, Resort & Spa Management from Swiss Hotel Management School in Leysin, Switzerland.

His appointment at Cabot Revelstoke Mountain Lodge represents an opportunity to bring together his extensive luxury resort experience with a new generation of mountain hospitality, as the destination prepares to welcome guests seeking exceptional experiences across both winter and summer seasons.

In his new role, Maain will oversee the hotel’s operations and guest experience, working alongside the wider Cabot Revelstoke team as the lodge prepares to become a central component of the destination’s growing resort offering.
