Aitken Spence Hotels achieves Green Globe Certification across Maldives portfolio

Aitken Spence Hotels has announced that all five Maldives sector resorts have successfully achieved Green Globe Certification under the Green Globe Standard 1.7 – Hotel & Resort Category, marking another important milestone in the group’s ongoing sustainability journey.

This year’s achievement is especially significant, with every property recording an improvement in its compliance score compared with 2024. The progress reflects the continued commitment of the resorts to responsible operations, environmental stewardship and sustainable hospitality practices across the Maldives.

The improved scores are as follows:

Since 2017, the Maldives sector has worked with external certification bodies to assess, guide and strengthen its sustainability performance. The latest Green Globe recertification demonstrates steady progress across the portfolio, driven by teamwork, accountability and a shared belief that hospitality must continue to grow responsibly.

Aitken Spence Hotels extends its appreciation to the Sustainability Champions, Chief Engineers, Learning & Development teams and all colleagues across the five resorts whose dedication contributed to this achievement.

As the group continues to advance its sustainability journey, this recognition stands as a reminder that meaningful progress is built through consistent action, collective responsibility and care for the destinations we are privileged to call home.
