Dhiraagu signs as Premier Sponsor of Hotelier Maldives GM Forum 2026

Hotelier Maldives has announced Dhiraagu as the Premier Sponsor of the Hotelier Maldives General Managers (GM) Forum 2026, extending a partnership that spans the publication’s two flagship industry platforms.

The 10th edition of the GM Forum will be held on 5 October at CROSSROADS Maldives under the theme “Resilience and Reinvention: Talent, Technology & Transformation.” The forum will bring together resort general managers, owners, senior executives, government representatives and industry partners to examine the operational and strategic issues shaping the future of tourism and hospitality in the Maldives.

Dhiraagu’s partnership as Premier Sponsor builds on its continued support for Hotelier Maldives and the wider hospitality sector. The company was the Platinum Partner of the Hotelier Maldives Awards in both 2025 and 2026, supporting the annual platform that recognises individuals, teams and initiatives across the country’s resort industry.

Dhiraagu has also supported the GM Forum, reinforcing its association with both the recognition of hospitality professionals and the industry dialogue led by resort general managers and senior executives.

The partnership takes on particular relevance this year as technology forms one of the three central pillars of GM Forum 2026. Discussions will examine how digital tools, automation and emerging technologies are changing resort operations, alongside wider conversations on talent development, leadership, organisational resilience and transformation.

Mohamed Mirshan Hassan, Director Brand & Marketing Communications at Dhiraagu, said the company’s continued partnership reflects its commitment to supporting the development of the Maldivian hospitality sector.

“Technology is becoming increasingly central to the way the hospitality industry operates, competes, and grows. From enhancing guest experiences and streamlining operations to enabling smarter decision-making and stronger collaboration, digital innovation is creating new opportunities for resorts to elevate performance and deliver greater value. Through our continued partnership with Hotelier Maldives for both the Hotelier Maldives Awards and the GM Forum, Dhiraagu is proud to support platforms that recognise the people who drive this industry forward while also fostering meaningful dialogue on its future. We remain committed to empowering the hospitality sector with reliable connectivity, digital solutions, and innovations that help businesses thrive in an increasingly connected world.’’ he said.

As a digital service provider, Dhiraagu works with businesses across the Maldives on connectivity and digital solutions supporting everyday operations and longer-term digital transformation.

For resorts operating across geographically dispersed islands, connectivity has become integral to both guest-facing services and back-of-house operations. Technology supports areas ranging from communications, reservations and property management to payments, data management, employee connectivity and increasingly digital guest experiences.

Ali Naafiz, Editor of Hotelier Maldives, said Dhiraagu’s continued involvement across both the Hotelier Maldives Awards and GM Forum reflects the value of long-term industry partnerships.

“Dhiraagu has been a strong supporter of Hotelier Maldives’ efforts to create platforms that serve the hospitality industry. Their partnership with the Hotelier Maldives Awards in 2025 and 2026 has helped us recognise the people and teams driving the sector, while their support for the GM Forum contributes to a platform where hospitality leaders can examine the issues shaping its future. As we mark the 10th edition of the GM Forum, we are pleased to welcome Dhiraagu as Premier Sponsor,” he added.

The Hotelier Maldives Awards and GM Forum serve complementary roles within Hotelier Maldives’ industry platform. The Awards recognise professionals, teams and initiatives across the resort sector, while the GM Forum provides senior hospitality leaders with a dedicated setting to discuss challenges, opportunities and developments affecting tourism.

Established in 2016, the GM Forum reaches its 10th edition this year. The 2026 programme will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions and industry conversations centred on talent, technology and transformation, within the broader theme of resilience and reinvention.

The forum will also bring together companies providing products, services and infrastructure across different areas of resort operations.
