Alila Kothaifaru Maldives promotes Naziya Hassan to Director of Sales
Alila Kothaifaru Maldives has announced the promotion of Naziya Hassan to Director of Sales, marking the latest step in her career progression at the Raa Atoll resort.
Naziya joined Alila Kothaifaru in October 2022 as Senior Sales Manager for Europe and the UK before being promoted to Assistant Director of Sales in June 2024. She held the position for more than two years before assuming her new role as Director of Sales in October 2026.
Announcing the promotion, Alila Kothaifaru said Naziya’s progression reflected her contribution to the resort’s commercial performance, as well as its focus on developing talent internally. The resort said her strategic approach, leadership and ability to build partnerships had played an important role in strengthening its sales operation.
In her previous role as Assistant Director of Sales, Naziya supported the leadership of the resort’s sales department, managed key accounts and new business opportunities, and contributed to sales strategy, forecasting and business planning. Her responsibilities also included developing relationships with clients and strategic partners, identifying new markets and representing the resort at industry events and trade shows.
Naziya brings more than 12 years of experience in luxury resort sales, international market development and commercial strategy. Her experience includes luxury brand positioning, high-yield account management, pre-opening sales and collaboration across sales, marketing and revenue functions.
Before joining Alila Kothaifaru, she spent nearly 11 years with Universal Resorts Management as Regional Sales Manager. In the cluster role, she handled key markets including the UK, France, Benelux, Italy, Spain and Oceania, with responsibilities spanning contracting, tour operator relations, market development, tactical promotions and partner performance. Earlier in her career, Naziya held positions with Sultans of the Seas, Alia Investments and Dhiraagu. She holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from AVID College and has also studied Business Administration with the Association of Business Executives in the UK.
Alila Kothaifaru said the promotion underscores Hyatt’s focus on creating career development pathways for colleagues and nurturing leadership talent from within. In her new position, Naziya will continue to focus on commercial growth, partnerships and the development of the resort’s sales strategy.
