Air India marks 50 years of flights to Maldives
Air India marked 50 years of operating flights to the Maldives on Saturday.
The airline launched its first flights to the Maldives on 21 February 1976, becoming the first Indian carrier to operate services on the route.
To mark the anniversary, a water salute was accorded to an Air India flight arriving in the Maldives on Saturday. The aircraft was carrying 139 passengers, who were served ice cream and cookies during the journey.
Air India currently operates direct flights to the Maldives from Bangalore and Mumbai.
