Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts launches their latest brand Dhawa
Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts has announced the launch of their latest brand, ‘Dhawa’. This new brand is built upon the group’s reputation for redefining luxury hospitality through innovative thinking, design excellence and sustainable business practices.
Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR) created the visual identity and hotel collateral for Dhawa. John Ewles, Creative Director at JKR Singapore said: “The Dhawa identity system is inspired by the eclectic feel of the hotels’ interiors, which mix contemporary style with local street chic. The brand language is intended to suggest ideas of discovery, layering and depth.”
The brand is set to make its global debut in March 2016 with the launch of the Dhawa Bo’ao on China’s Hainan Island. This 346-room property will include a spa, restaurant, swimming pool and extensive function space. Dhawa Cayo Las Brujas will open in Cuba in July 2016, offering 516 rooms, three restaurants, a swimming pool, gym, kids’ club, water sports centre and meeting facilities.
David Spooner, VP for sales and marketing at Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts said: “Dhawa joins Cassia, Angsana and, of course, Banyan Tree to be the fourth hospitality offering in our portfolio. The brand was created to respond to a new generation of design-savvy independent travellers who are looking for somewhere stylish and casual to stay.”
Banyan Tree is planning a rapid roll-out for the Dhawa brand, with a further five hotels expected to launch in China (in Yunnan, Guizhou and Henan provinces) and Thailand (Bangkok and Phuket).
Banyan Tree currently operates Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru, Angsana Ihuru and Angsana Velavaru in the Maldives.
