Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives grand opening event attracts industry partners

On October 13, 2023, Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives, the inaugural Maldivian jewel by Barceló Hotels & Resorts, hosted a glamorous grand opening event to celebrate its debut. The event was attended by a select group of tour operators, travel agents, and tourism media from around the world.

The evening began with a sunset cocktail party at the resort’s stunning beach club, setting the mood for the festivities that followed. Guests mingled and enjoyed refreshing drinks while taking in the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean.

As the sun set, the party moved to the resort’s main restaurant, Sea Salt, for a gala dinner. The evening featured a sumptuous buffet of international cuisine, as well as live music and a DJ. Guests danced the night away under the stars, celebrating the grand opening of this new Maldivian paradise.

Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives is a 100-villa resort located on the pristine island of Bodufinolhu in the South Ari Atoll. The resort also features three restaurants, a snack bar, and three bars, offering a diverse range of dining and beverage options.

Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives is the first resort in the Maldives for Barceló Hotels & Resorts, a leading global hotel chain. The company plans to open a second hotel in Malé, the capital of the Maldives, in 2024.
