BML and MINDCO open registration for Collab 26 Hackathon
Bank of Maldives (BML) and Maldives Innovation and Digital Company (MINDCO) have opened registration for the “Collab 26 Hackathon”, a two-day event focused on digital innovation and technology-based solutions.
According to the organisers, the hackathon aims to support participants in developing digital ideas into working prototypes with guidance from mentors.
Developers, data scientists, students, entrepreneurs and industry professionals have been invited to register through the official Collab 26 portal. Registered participants will receive information on the event schedule and mentor assignments.
The hackathon is being conducted under the National AI and Data Competency Center, established jointly by BML and MINDCO.
Organisers said the event follows the first two days of the Collab 26 conference and will involve participants working in teams to develop solutions under two separate tracks.
The first track, “AI Integration in Government Services”, will focus on sectors including education, healthcare, social protection, public finance, environment and tourism.
Participants in this category will work on solutions aimed at improving service delivery, operational processes and data-based decision-making through the use of artificial intelligence.
The second track, “Fintech Innovation via Swipe API”, is being conducted in collaboration with BML and will allow teams to develop financial technology applications using the bank’s Swipe API platform.
According to the organisers, the track will focus on digital payment systems and improving access to financial services.
The National AI and Data Competency Center was established under a memorandum of understanding signed between BML and MINDCO as part of the government’s Maldives 2.0 digital transformation programme.
