BML to enable international payments for MSMEs through payment gateway

Bank of Maldives (BML) has finalised the arrangements to enable Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to receive payments from overseas customers for goods and services through the BML Payment Gateway.

The initiative is being delivered in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade (the Ministry) and the Business Center Corporation (BCC). It is designed to support MSMEs serving international markets, allowing them to accept payments from foreign customers and receive funds in US dollars.

BML, together with the Ministry and BCC, is working towards launching the service on 1 November 2026.
