Hotelier Maldives announces GM Forum 2025 on digitalisation, expanding experiences

Hotelier Maldives, the nation’s leading publication for hospitality professionals, has announced the return of its premier event, the General Managers (GM) Forum. The highly anticipated 2025 edition will take place on October 13, 2025, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from across the Maldivian tourism sector.

This year’s forum will centre on the theme, ‘Digitalisation and Expanding Experiences’. The topic is set to address the critical evolution of the guest journey, exploring how technology can be seamlessly integrated with authentic Maldivian hospitality to create unparalleled and memorable stays. As the industry continues to navigate a landscape of shifting consumer expectations, especially with the revolutions in Artificial Intelligence (AI), the forum will provide a vital platform for general managers to discuss strategies for harnessing digital tools to enhance efficiency, personalise services, and expand beyond traditional luxury offerings.

Commenting on this year’s theme, Ali Naafiz, Editor of Hotelier Maldives, stated, “The theme ‘Digitalisation and Expanding Experiences’ reflects a pivotal shift in our industry. It’s no longer just about providing luxury, but about creating deeply personalised, seamless, and expansive journeys for our guests. Technology is the enabler, but the goal remains authentic human connection. This forum will explore that crucial intersection, providing a roadmap for the future of Maldivian hospitality.”

The GM Forum has consistently established itself as the most influential gathering for hospitality leaders in the Maldives. The 2024 forum was a resounding success, featuring high-level discourse on sustainability, strategic growth, and market differentiation. The event drew key figures including government ministers, CEOs of major travel and aviation companies, and seasoned hoteliers who shared invaluable insights.

Last year’s discussions, moderated by prominent media personalities, covered everything from the strategic insights of ministers on foreign investment and tourism policy to expert panels on redefining luxury travel. Keynotes from figures like John Bevan, CEO of dnata Travel Group, set the stage for forward-thinking collaboration. The forum underscored the importance of adapting to global trends and leveraging the Maldives’ unique selling points, a foundation upon which the 2025 event will build.

The GM Forum 2025 will continue this tradition of excellence, featuring a dynamic agenda of keynote speeches, in-depth presentations, and engaging panel discussions. Attendees can look forward to networking opportunities and collaborative breakout sessions designed to foster innovation and equip them with actionable strategies to drive their properties forward.

Hotelier Maldives invites all general managers and hospitality executives to save the date for this essential industry event. Further details regarding the agenda, speakers, and venue partner will be announced in the coming months.
