Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025 to take place at Barceló Nasandhura Malé on June 14
Hotelier Maldives has announced that the Hotelier Maldives Awards 2025, presented by Bestbuy Maldives (BBM), will take place on June 14, 2025, at Barceló Nasandhura Malé — the capital’s newly opened five-star hotel.
Launched in 2024, the Hotelier Maldives Awards were established to celebrate and recognise the outstanding individuals driving excellence in the Maldives’ tourism and hospitality industry. The inaugural edition received an overwhelming response, with over 300 nominations and more than 100,000 public votes cast.
Building on the success of the first edition, the 2025 Awards saw over 450 nominations submitted before the deadline on February 10. Judging took place from February 20 to March 15, followed by public voting, which concluded on April 25 with over 600,000 votes. This year, the awards have expanded to include four new categories, and winners will be selected through a combined evaluation of judges’ scores (60%) and public votes (40%).
The awards ceremony on June 14 will unveil the winners at a gala event attended by industry leaders, tourism professionals, and partners from across the Maldives.
The 2025 edition will be held at Barceló Nasandhura Malé, a landmark addition to the capital’s hospitality landscape. As the first five-star hotel in Malé, the property is operated by Barceló Hotel Group as part of its continued expansion in the Indian Ocean. Located directly opposite the Henveiru Ferry Terminal and just 10 minutes from Velana International Airport, Barceló Nasandhura Malé boasts 136 rooms, 116 luxury apartments, and a range of dining and leisure facilities — including the city’s first oceanfront pool, a rooftop lounge, multiple restaurants, a wellness centre, and a seafront fitness studio.
