JOALI Maldives triumphs again as 2024 Tekkers Resort Cup Champions in Raa zone

JOALI Maldives has claimed victory once again, securing the championship title at the 2024 Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Cup in the Raa Zone for the second year in a row.

The tournament, which concluded on September 9, 2024, was hosted at JOALI Maldives and featured an intense final match against Cora Cora Maldives. The Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Cup 2024 (Raa Zone) was a display of remarkable skill and sportsmanship, as all teams delivered outstanding performances, creating a memorable event for participants and spectators alike.

Four teams competed fiercely for the title: JOALI Maldives, JOALI Being, You & Me Maldives, and Cora Cora Maldives. In a thrilling final showdown, JOALI Maldives clinched the championship with a 2-1 victory, showcasing excellent composure and skill under pressure. Mohamed Juman of JOALI Maldives was named Man of the Match for his remarkable performance in the final.

Several individual awards were also presented at the conclusion of the tournament. Both Mohamed Isaam of Cora Cora Maldives and Mohamed Juman of JOALI Maldives earned the Top Scorer award, each netting 7 goals over the course of the tournament. Juman also received the Best Player award for his exceptional contribution to JOALI Maldives’ success.

Abdulla Haneef of JOALI Maldives was recognised as the Best Coach of the Raa Zone, while You & Me Maldives earned the Fair Team Play award for their exemplary sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Cora Cora Maldives, the runner-up, displayed remarkable talent and determination, making the final an exciting contest. The much-anticipated match between the Raa Zone champions, JOALI Maldives, and the Baa Zone champions, Milaidhoo Maldives, is set to take place on September 11, 2024.

Looking ahead, the Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Cup will continue its journey in Lhaviyani Atoll, with the next edition of the tournament kicking off on September 13, 2024.

This year’s Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Cup not only showcased the incredible talent in the Raa Zone but also fostered camaraderie among the participating teams, strengthening the spirit of sportsmanship that is the essence of the event.
