Maagiri Hotel marks International Day of the Girl Child with inspiring collaboration
In celebration of the International Day of the Girl Child, Maagiri Hotel, in collaboration with Hope for Women, hosted an event dedicated to empowering and inspiring young girls. Held as part of Maagiri Hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the gathering brought together prominent women leaders, professionals, and youth to engage in dialogue, mentorship, and reflection on the rights and potential of girls.
The event commenced with a lively networking session accompanied by high tea, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships. The setting fostered open conversation and a sense of community among women and girls from diverse walks of life.
Distinguished speakers addressed the audience with insights on gender equality and women’s empowerment in the Maldives. Chief Justice Aishath Shujune delivered an inspiring keynote speech underscoring the importance of education, leadership, and legal protections for girls. Aminath Shirani Naeem, Chief Executive Officer of the Family Protection Authority, discussed the critical role of policy frameworks in safeguarding the rights of young girls. Aneesa Ahmed, Co-founder of Hope for Women, reflected on the evolution of advocacy efforts in the Maldives and the ongoing need to nurture future generations of female leaders.
A highlight of the programme was the interactive session titled “Table Talks: Her Story,” during which participants took part in guided discussions exploring personal experiences, challenges, and aspirations. The segment created a supportive and empowering environment that encouraged girls to express themselves, share perspectives, and draw inspiration from the experiences of established women leaders.
The International Day of the Girl Child celebration at Maagiri Hotel stood as a strong reaffirmation of commitment to an inclusive and equitable future. Through this collaboration, Maagiri Hotel and Hope for Women reiterated their dedication to fostering opportunities and platforms that uplift, educate, and empower girls across the Maldives.
