Maagiri Hotel partners with MNU to mark National Tourism Day

In celebration of National Tourism Day, Maagiri Hotel collaborated with the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality at the Maldives National University (MNU) to host an engaging and educational work session for hospitality students on 5 October 2025.

The programme was thoughtfully curated to provide students with valuable hands-on experience in key areas of hotel operations, bridging the gap between academic learning and real-world industry practice. The day commenced with an interactive housekeeping session, during which students were introduced to the operational standards and practices upheld within a professional hotel setting. This was followed by a hosted lunch at the hotel’s signature Faru Restaurant, offering a relaxed environment for students to engage with members of the Maagiri Hotel team.

In the afternoon, students met with the General Manager of Maagiri Hotel, who shared personal industry insights and career guidance during an intimate discussion session. The event concluded with an immersive food and beverage session, giving participants a behind-the-scenes look into restaurant operations and guest service management.

“Working with MNU to celebrate National Tourism Day reinforces our dedication to industry growth through education and mentorship,” said Ahmed Saeed, General Manager of Maagiri Hotel.

This collaboration underscores Maagiri Hotel’s ongoing commitment to nurturing the next generation of hospitality professionals and supporting educational initiatives that strengthen the Maldivian tourism sector.
