Madifushi Private Island elevates service standards with SABA Butler Academy

Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to excellence in luxury hospitality, Madifushi Private Island recently hosted the prestigious SABA International Hotel Butler Training Programme — a globally recognised initiative dedicated to advancing the future of luxury service. Delivered in collaboration with the South African Butler Academy (SABA) International Butler Academy, one of the world’s foremost institutions in butler and service excellence training, the intensive programme sought to elevate personalised service standards both within the resort and across its wider hospitality network.

The training was conducted in two separate batches, each spanning three days, to ensure focused attention and hands-on learning for every participant. Reflecting its commitment to uplifting the broader Maldivian hospitality community, Madifushi Private Island extended participation to team members from Hulhule Island Hotel (HIH) and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL), thereby fostering cross-organisational alignment in luxury service standards.

Held in the tranquil and inspiring setting of Madifushi Private Island, the programme was led by Newton Cross, Master Trainer and Principal of SABA International Butler Academy. With decades of experience in the field of luxury hospitality, Cross delivered the training with his signature approach—energetic, heartfelt, and empowering—motivating participants to achieve their full potential.

“This week at Madifushi Private Island has been nothing short of exceptional. Our passion is people, and nothing compares to witnessing the transformation that takes place when individuals embrace the art of modern butler service,” Cross reflected in an official post on LinkedIn.

At the graduation ceremony, Mohamed Hilmy, General Manager of Madifushi Private Island, delivered a heartfelt address in which he underscored the importance of continuous learning and personal development within the hospitality sector. He commended SABA and Cross for delivering a training programme that was not only of the highest calibre but also perfectly aligned with the resort’s service aspirations. Hilmy also highlighted the evident improvements in the first group of participants, particularly in their confidence and professionalism.

“Carry forward the values and skills learned, not just as part of the job, but as a reflection of the Madifushi spirit—one that strives for excellence, elegance, and heartfelt service,” said Hilmy.

The comprehensive programme included immersive, practical modules covering areas such as personal grooming, butler service, etiquette, food and beverage management, guest relations, and cultural awareness—ensuring that participants gained a well-rounded understanding of luxury hospitality and service excellence.

This initiative reflects Madifushi Private Island’s unwavering pursuit of service perfection. As a brand rooted in luxury, elegance, curated service, and authentic Maldivian hospitality, the resort continues to invest in world-class training to empower its team and enrich the guest experience at every level.

Nestled in the untouched atolls of the Maldives, Madifushi Private Island is an exclusive sanctuary that offers unparalleled privacy, natural beauty, and bespoke luxury experiences. With a strong emphasis on exceptional service, the resort continues to redefine personalised hospitality in the Indian Ocean.
